I know Thanksgiving was a week ago, but I’m a bit behind on my postings. I made the trek to MD, thanks to the bf, who drove my carless soul down there, to spend turkey day with my family. I woke up bright and early to start preparing the days food. I started with pumpkin cranberry muffins for breakfast. When everything was ready to go in the oven we decided to get nice and hungry by taking a 4 mile hike on the C&O toe path. It was a beautiful day and I got some great pictures! The last thing I wanted to do after such a refreshing walk was gorge myself with fatty goodness, but alas, it WAS Thanksgiving and since that is precisely what you are to do… I did! And boy was it AMAZING!
We had the usu
al, turkey, mashed potatos, cranberry sauce and my moms homemade stuffing. But I also had been feeling very domestic and made carmelized carrots (baby carrots with cranberry sauce, lemon juice, brown sugar and butter [REAL BUTTER]), sweet potato casserole with craisins, chopped pecans and oatmeal topped with cinnamon sugar apple slices and not one, not two but THREE kinds of homemade pie complete with momma McFads homemade pie crust. After dinner we made the mistake of watching Get Smart (worst movie of life). I was terribly disappointed because of my love for both Steve and Anne. Other than that my favorite holiday was a huge success and I have some fantastic pictures to prove it! The only thing that would have made it better was if my nephew Noah could have spent the day with us. Maybe next year…
